Global Stamping Friends Bloghop - Anything but cards

Welcome to the monthly blog hop of Stamping Global Friends, a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world.

This month's theme is Anything But Cards - so with lots of Birthdays and Christmas around the corner, I thought I'd focus on a very simple package.

I like to call this my 2,4,6,8 box - a very simple box to make.

Usually, I have a lid on the box, but having made one as a thank you gift, the sweeties bought to fit in didn't quite fill it.  No panic, put the lid went on the bottom a staple with ribbon to hold the top together and a happy accident is born!

The stamp set used is the Magical Mermaid set and I am in love with it.  I used a cut out of the mermaid as a mask and this allowed the mermaid to look as though it is in front of the plants. I also gently pulled the colour from the mermaid stamp with an aqua painter. Another happy accident as I was crafting at the library and forgot to take my Archival Black ink.

The box height is easily changed, just by altering the paper size on the long side.  The basis is still the same, one score at 2" on the long side, creates the base and then on the short side 2, 4, 6, 8 - simple!
Above you can see different height boxes and one with a lid.

TOP TIP: Score the 2" on the long side for the base first and then stamp and then score the 2,4,6,8 lines on the short side. Just helps with the stamping as no defined breaks.

I hope you liked my project and please hop along to see Georgia's project using the next arrow below.

Happy crafting
Sarah
