Global Stamping Friends - Extraordinary Hop

Welcome to an extra special hop. Yes, there's a new catalogue on the block. In the UK we call it the Autumn/Winter catalogue, but in other parts of the world it's called the Seasonal catalogue. Different names but same AMAZING items!

Demonstrators were able to pre-order from it a while ago - one of the perks! Unfortunately I didn't so I'm still waiting for my order. Good news however, as of the 5th September everyone can order - hooray!

So, I decided to share the items I love the most.

Halloween isn't huge here, but the kids do like to decorate and trick or treat - good excuse for sweeties I think.

So my favourite bundle is this -

J

I LOVE it.

I mean isn't this box just the cutest?!

Photo from catalogue

I also love this Designer Series Paper from the suite- amazing projects to be made with this.
 Plus the dies match!!!

Hoping to share some real life projects with you soon.

Please hopping over to see Tricia's wonderful project from the new catalogue.

Global Stamping Friends Anniversary

WOW!  Look where one little Facebook post on the 25th July 2016 has led.

It is hard to believe that what started off with me wanting to take part in a bloghop and asking on a Demonstrator Planning page if anyone wanted to join me has lead here- our 2nd Anniversary.

We've had people come and go over the past 2 years and some who have been here the whole time. But that is a the beauty of Stampin' Up! you get to make great friends.

Please get yourself a cuppa and some cake, after all it is a celebration, and sit down to enjoy the projects.

My project used the new Puzzle Pieces Thinlits.  I LOVE this set and have lots of great ideas for it.  It comes in a bundle with a matching stamp set but I've just used the dies for this one.

This is one of the framelits from the set, a heart.   You not only get the puzzle pieces but you are left with a heart cut out - clever!

The sentiment is from the new Tropical Chic stamp set. I masked pieces of the full sentiment which was " with much love and thanks" to get just the love.  This also comes in a bundle with matching dies and I can easily see it becoming one of my go to sets.

I really love the colours used navy and lemon lime twist with whisper white, although I am sure that lots of other colour combinations would be amazing too!

I hope that you have enjoyed my project, please hop on over to see Lisa's  amazing creation.

Global Stamping Friends - Home Decor

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Bloghop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all around the world - yes Stampin' Up! is a great place to meet new friends.

This month we are focusing on Home Decor - that's right something a bit different, but that Stampin' Up! products make so easy.

I made a name sign for a bedroom door. It was so simple to make. I used the thick card base that comes with the DSP papers for the base, stamped on a piece of whisper white to create my own background and best of all?  The large letter dies!  They are a godsend to anyone who can't find a name in the shops - like me often.  I added these to a plan piece of whisper white and then placed that over the handcrafted DSP.

Having seen it I thought the back needed something to so I added the IN and OUT pockets with a a space for a pencil.  What I didn't envisage is that my youngest son would love it so much he has already been writing notes and putting them in the OUT pocket for me to read.  I am so pleased that he likes it as it will really help him with his writing and reading,. Yes, I too have written some notes already and he is really enjoying his new room decor.

I hope that you have liked this little project and am I'm now inspired to create individual name signs and IN OUT pockets for all the kids!

For more inspiration hop on over to Lisa's blog to see her amazing creation.

GSF - The wait is over!

Well, yes the wait is finally over. The new Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue is live for you to order from.

It is an amazing catalogue, with some sets carrying over. I am so thankful for this as there are some still on my wish list!  There are also lots of new stamps, dies, ribbons and also new inks (as well as some returning ones!) plus lots more.

I CASED the catalogue in making this card. However, as I couldn't order the stamp set used until today I used the new Rooted in Nature set - I adore this set and had such fun making this card with it.

However, I need to apologise as the mat card is retired - I am sorry but I pulled it out and did not realise that the colour is no longer with us!  BUT there are so many other colours that this would work with that I am sure you will forgive me.

I also used the new Swirly Frames stamp set. This is going to be a really useful set and I love the fact that it is photopolymer so you can manipulate the shapes. Check back soon for a project showing just that!

The ribbon is the copper trim and I am so happy that it is carrying over as I've yet to maximize it's usage. The sentiment is from the Climbing Orchard stamp set, another carry over.

I hope you are enjoying looking at all the new products and hop on over to Jenn's page to see her fantastic creation.

Global Stamping Friends Bloghop - Design Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the 21st Bloghop of Global Stamping Friends.

This month we are doing Design Sketch Challenge based on this design - and what an amazing design it is.

This is Take 1 of my design

 Take 1

I then did Take 2 because I really wasn't sure about the red spots or how it was working together. That's the great thing about giving things a go - you just never know how you feel about the finished project until it is done.

I have to say I really love Take 2 and in fact am keen to try the design in other colours.

Take 2

I am in LOVE with the Petal Palette stamp set and matching dies.  I am so excited they are carrying over into the new catalogue.  Unfortunately the Designer Series Paper isn't carrying over BUT there is still a chance to get it so don't miss out as once it's gone it's gone!

Hope you enjoyed my card and please hop over to see Kimberley's lovely design.

I have seen the new catalogue!  That's a perk of being a demonstrator you get to see things a bit early and I just fell in love with this box - so my project tonight isn't so much a project as a product! It's the delightful Share What you Love embellishment kit.

Isn't it just gorgeous!  So pretty and the sentiment is an amended Statement of the Heart from Stampin' Up! - amazing.  Best yet?  The Statement of the Heart stand alone stamp plus the Embellishment Kit plus lots of other goodies are part of one of the bundles available 1st May!  Come back for more details on that.  Exciting!!!

Best of all it's not only a pretty box it holds amazing delights as well!

Just look at those teeny tiny paperclips and those rose embellishments - divine!

I cannot wait to get crafting with these goodies and then using the box as a gift box - wonder who the luckily recipient will be?

Global Stamping Friends - Colour Challenge!

Welcome to the 19th Bloghop of Stampin' Up! lovers from around the world.  It is hard to believe that I asked some strangers at the time to join me and look where we are now!

This month's bloghop is a colour challenge.

Just gorgeous colours and I was excited as Lemon Lime Twist and Island Indigo as two of my all time favourite colours.  I also only used those 2 are I realised my colour caddy is missing Early Espresso - might need to rectify that one!

My project is inspired on one Tracy May, did some time ago. I happened to come across it by chance and fell in love with it. She used traditional pink but I decided to take some liberty with the flamingo - I'm sure if they ate blueberries rather than shrimps they'd be blue!

Here is my Island Indigo and Lemon Lime twist Flamingo!

I adore it!  In this version I just let the water bleed naturally whereas in the one below I used a tissue after the water was spritzed. Two different looks and I love them both.

The, how I did it, is right at the bottom, but I don't want to stop you from hopping around all the fantastic projects so feel free to leave me here and hop onto Jan's project and come back if you'd like more information.

How'd I do it?

I stamped first in Lemon Lime Twist and then on top with Island Indigo and pressed a little harder on one side of the stamp to let some of the Lemon Lime come through.  I also masked the bottom the legs so that the Lemon Lime was the only colour on those. To line them up of course I used our famous Stamp-a-ma-jig, a wonderful tool.

It took me a few goes to get to right and my top tips are;
Use watercolour paper, not shimmery white- the water just spread too much for me on the shimmery white
Use a little spritzed water first, the ink spreads further then you think
Use a tissue if you want to stop the water spreading and pooling in places
Finally, have fun with it!
