Baby Cards - using punches differently

Well I don't often have the opportunity to complete such a fanastic project, but with a couple of friends having babies thought I would take the opportunity to create a few different cards....am sure you can find loads of examples on the internet but just in case you haven't seen them - aren't these cute and so simple to make.

Can you pick how the dresses and trousers were made?  that's right the owl punch , not just for owls.

The dresser bottom is made with the Decorative label punch - pretty clever I think.

Anyway if you have any of your baby cards you've made please share them or please use these ideas to make your own.

Festival of Trees and Feastive Flurry

Guess with Christmas so near the card competitions are beginning to come.  I wanted to share with you what my two boys made to enter the local Christmas Card competition.

Aren't they brillant! If I say so myself.

My 7 year old loves crafting and in fact he is the one who introduced me to Stampin' Up! really when he fell in love with the bird punch.  He loved making the card below and really enjoyed stamping the different coloured decorations on the Christmas Tree.

This effect is so simple to do and the Festival of Trees set is the most fanatatic set to create different trees so easily and it comes in a bundle - with the punch and stamp - even better!!  The light string comes from another great set the Holiday Home.  Both the sets are photopolymer which means it is really easy to see where to line up the decorations.

The tree card was CASED from a kiwi demonstrator Paula Reid - some lovely stuff from down under and my home country - sometimes wish I was there as summer is coming!

My older son wanted to use silver and red and snowflakes so he completed this entry using the now retired (sorry!!) Festive Flurry dies.

 Aren't they both brillant!!

Isn't it hard when you see something you like and can no longer get the products!!! I know !!!! But my advise is when you see something buy it as it won't be there forever and the Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! catalogue is only around for a little while longer - why not have a look and see what you are missing by not buying for yourself.

Get in touch. leave a comment or even host a fantastic Christmas Crafting Party in your own home.

It's a bit like Spring

It's hard to believe that it is already the 1st of November.  The weather here in the UK is absolutely gorgeous, and because of that I have decided to do a spring like flower card to celebrate.   It is really simple to do and yet looks so effective.

It is so simple to make, and have to admit saw it somewhere else, sorry can't remember where.

First stamp a series of flowers down the side of a sheet- choose colours that you like and stamp where ever you like - remember however this is going to do down the side or across the bottom of your card so try and make it easy on yourself as you are going to cut, yes sorry, cut around it.  I choose the Flower Shop set as I love these flowers.

Then roughly cut around the line of flowers, stamp a few more and cut these out with the matching Pansy punch and also cut about an inch of the card....simple isn't it.

Then layer the card as you desire- stick the long piece on first and then add the single flowers to add depth - as you see I only used two of the individual flowers and then added a sentiment and volia a nice summery card to celebrate the sun in November!

A few other designs......

Hope there is a little bit of sun shining wherever you are.

Blendabilities - not just for card

Blendabilities are the new alcohol markers from Stampin' Up! and they are fantastic for not only colouring but also for....wait....colouring ribbon.

That is right the ribbon below is custom made by using blendabilities - isn't it lovely. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up! and is the Whisper White 5/8 Inch Organza Ribbon - isn't it beautiful.

Blendabilities come in packs of three normally, and have different shades of the one colour to allow for fantastic blending when colouring pictures, but when used on ribbon you get a totally different colour depending on the blendability colour from the pack. The lighter coloured ribbon uses the  lighter blendability from the Coastal Cabana set and the darker one uses the darkest colour - which do you prefer?

Would you like to give blendabilities ago - why not buy some yourself or contact me and arrange to hold a party in the comfort of your own home.

A gift card in a card!

I love giving gifts, but sometimes if you don't know the person very well, or they seem to need or want for nothing, I find a gift card is the way to go.

Check out my post for ideas on Christmas gift card giving - love the idea of hanging it on the tree.

But, there are so many other occasions to give a gift so I came up with these...have to say didn't entirely invent them but can't remember where I saw it, so forgive me.

The card front looks like a basic card.....

but open it up and hey presto a wonderful place to put the gift card!

I would love to receive a gift card packaged up like this.  What about you?  Let me know your thoughts.

Also isn't that on the front ribbon beautiful- you won't find it in the Stampin' Up! catalogue- but it is Stampin' Up! ribbon with an added product. Can you guess it???? Still guessing, check out tomorrows blog for the answer.

Happy crafting and gifting.

Gift Card Holder

Following on from the money card holder, here is a cute little gift card holder idea. As you can see one is like a card and the other is to hang on the tree!  How fantastic Christmas morning would be seeing these hanging on the tree....what good boys and girls there have been for Santa to deliver these lovely gifts.

The red card has been stamped with the little dinosaur from the Little Buddy Birthday set  and coloured with the new Blendabilites from Stampin' UP! - doesn't he look all ready for Christmas with his Santa Hat - the sequins are adorable too, and they are from the new Autumn/Winter 2014 catalogue.

The Island Indigo tree hanging card is my favourite though, I love the colour and the image. The snowflakes in the background are from the Holiday Home set as are the strings of lights on the tree - so very clever I think as I just coloured the number of lights I wanted on the stamp and hey presto - Christmas light!  The tree is from the Festival of Trees set, which is also a great set which lots of variations and comes in a money saving bundle.

Both sentiments are using the Petite Pairs set, which has great sentiments in fabulous fonts - the Merry Christmas is lovely I think and cut with the modern label punch.

I hope you like these Gift Card holder - please leave a comment on your thoughts and if you wish to purchase any of the set please click on the picture on the link below and it will take you right to my shop.

Money Wallet- a beautiful way to gift money

Sometimes finding a Christmas present is hard, so sometimes money is the right present. Why not gift it in this lovely money wallet.  Easy to make and have given dimensions in the photos - hope it makes sense. If not please let me know, and if you make one please share your design.

The finished card
Inside the card

The dimensions, cuts and socring
Use the envelope punch boards to round the corners - also can do the card folded for ease
Don't forget the inside panel and to glue it down!
Hope you like this project, really simple but a nicer way than just giving in an envelope.

Happy Gifting

Box Card

I guess like most things, they come and go. I suspect that those of you have know Stampin' Up! for a while will have seen this card already.....I however, being relatively new have just found it and absolutely love it!  It is simple to make, and CASED from someone else (link below). There are other instructions on other blogs out there, but I found this one the easiest- however just note the dimensions in the text are incorrect- needs a piece of card 10" x 8 1/2 (not the 8 1/5 as posted).

 Here it is.......

And open......

I love the fact that you can also give a few bits and bobs inside, I have included some tags and hanging ornaments, which are reversible and so easy to make with the Tree stamp set and matching punch - what will you add??

The stamp set for the tree used is absolutely amazing, and in fact for the first time I think even my husband was pretty impressed with the set; there are so many variations to choose for the tree that there are endless options..

Unfortunately, the stamp set for the snowflake on the front is retired ( I know, bad of me to use it, but I just got it secondhand so had to try!) but good news there is another great option in the Autumn/ Winter catalogue that would be perfect The Endless Wishes Set, and it has great sentiments.

And what about the cute candy cane and holly, they come from the Happy Hour stamp set - another very useful set as does the sentiment inside.

Hope you have liked this project, I had lots of fun making it.
