In-Colours are going!!!

So sad, although we have known from the start the 2014-16 in-colours are going to be retiring this year, it's still very sad..  They were a great set of colour and I will especially miss Blackberry Bliss; my all time favourite colour. I remember the first time I saw it at a Stampin' Up! event; it was love at first sight!

Here's a table with all the in-colour products, you can see it's not just inks but all the matching accessories as well.  If there is anything you'd like you need to be ordering soon as they do at times run out!

I'd love to hear what your favourite colour is so leave a comment!

On a happy note, we'll get new colours this year! I wonder what they will be?

Easter boxes to fit the small dinky eggs

Promised dimensions for these adorable boxes and have finally gotten control of the computer! Think I need to get something just for Mum that the kids cannot use; anyway I digress.

They are so simple to make and based one I saw Sam Donald make but adapted to fit 10 eggs - you could alter the length to fit the number of eggs you need, just remember to adjust the cardstock size and the scoring.

Dimensions:

Cardstock – 10.5" x 3.5″
Score on the LONG side at 1/2, 1 1/4, 9 1/4, 10"
Score on the SHORT side at 3/4, 1 1/2, 2 1/4. 3"

Then you just need to build the box - simple!

Stamp your design, score and then use a bone folder to burnish all your score lines

When burnishing you want to do a zig zag fold at the end as this makes it easier to close.

Use the word window punch to punch the little window -you need to punch NOT near the small edge but in the second big gap where you have the widest edge and away from the downwards score lines.

Now it's time to glue it together - fold down the short edge, glue on this and then fold the other edge to meet and cover it.

To finish the ends you need to do an hourglass shape - gently squeeze to get this and give it a little help if needed to go inwards.

And there it is!  All finished and just need to be filled with mini eggs (my fitted 10) and stapled to close each end.

I do hope that this makes some sense, any problems with making your own boxes please do let me know and I'd love for you to share your creations on my Facebook page

Entering a Challenge!

I've decided to enter a challenge!  They say you need to start somewhere and I decided that I'd give entering a challenge a go - a bit daunting entering your first challenge, but crafters are kind and considerate people so I am sure it will all be ok.

CAS #164 challenge was a sketch; you can move things around so they don't to match the sketch directly, which was a good thing for me.

My take on the ketch is below;

Pretty simple and so quick to make. I used a Whisper White, love Stampin' Up! Thick Whisper White for card based!  The mat is Melon Mambo and the stamping is Bermuda Bay.  I had to add a little bit of bling and thought that the Bermuda Bay sequin trim was what was called for.

The flourish is the Timeless Textures stamp and I just love it; and the thanks is from Another Thank you set; has a great variety of Thank you fonts!

I hope that you like the card and that you too find the time to enter a Challenge - does make you get your thinking caps on!

The bow builder punch

I love the punch and have had such fun punching out lots of bits of bow and making them up, in fact I actually found it very therapeutic.

The variation in bows you can make is amazing and it ever makes great rosettes and don't forget leaves!

They also make a great addition to a quick and simple card!

Really easy to make and so pretty with the wonderful Designer Series Paper as a background.

My son even thinks that they make a great bone for the dog!

A lovely punch and I love the fact that you don't have to tie a bow, just a bit of gluing!
