Autumnal Colours

I participate in a monthly challenge and this weekends challenge was to create a card using autumnal colours - what do you think?

I love the fact that you can colour stamps using the Stampin' Markers - makes the stamp extremely versatile.  Here I used the leaves from the Perpetual Birthday stamp set and coloured individual leaves different colours and then just stamped after remembering to "huff" before stamping.

I also love the gold metallic thread on the top, a little bit of shine.  The picture doesn't really do it justice sorry.

A quick sentiment with the ends cut out using the triple banner punch and then raised on dimensionals and there you have it - a quick simple autumnal card.

A simple birthday card

Sometimes I like to make and quick and simple card, and I think this one fits the bill.  It was really simple to make, especially with the new triple banner punch. No more trying to cut fish tails evenly the punch does it all for you.  It even does a lot more than the 3 sizes indicated in the catalogue.

I also love the new Mint macaron colour, especially against the very vanilla card stock.  The pretty paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer series pack, a great little pack of paper and very reasonably priced.

I finished off with a Happy Birthday sentiment, which was highlighted around the edges by using a sponge.

To finish it off a bit of bling was added at the bottom of each banner. Stampin' Up! rhinestones are great and even better they are currently on the Weekly Deals..so a bargain to be had!

Hope you like this quick and easy card and you can see the main supplies used below. Any questions please just ask.

Stampin' Up! Kits

I love that Stampin' Up! have realised that we often lead very busy lives and don't have time to fluff around and choose bits and pieces for a project.

If you know that feeling than the Stampin' Up! kits are for you....

Stampin' Up! have wonderful kits and wow the new kits in the Autumn/Winter catalogue are gorgeous.

These Shaker cards are so sweet and also so simple to make - and the best part everything you need is in the kit!  Although you can always add a few extra touches with a stamp set and some ink.

Who couldn't resist these beautiful tags, wouldn't they look great on Christmas morning on that stack of presents under the tree.  The kit has almost all you need, just a few inks and stamps are needed to get this finished look, and best of all on Pg 5 is shows the stamp set that would be a perfect match!

If you'd like to order these kits. or any the other fabulous kits that Stampin' Up! have please pop over the my shop, and best of all there is even a section in the store that just for kits (and the extras!)

Being a demo can be magical

I know, I know it has been a while since I've posted.  But for those you knew and those who possibly guessed I have not been around home for a while. In fact I have been over the other side of the world, visiting my home of New Zealand.

It was the best time to go as no kids had to be taken out of school and we could go for 4 weeks. The only down side was the my husband could not join us...this meant that I had two very long flights with a 2, 8 and 10 year old as well as having to look after them over there.  I have to say however my family and friends were brilliant at helping out!  Some days I didn't see them for hours, which gave me time to visit and catch up with family and friends which was very special.

Crafting wise......a bit of hit and miss.  I did take a huge box of supplies to keep me busy, but with visiting and having great adventures, crafting seemed to be a bit non existent.

What I did do however was spend 1/2 a day in a school, the primary school that I actually went too many moons ago....and this is why being a demo is magical! Sharing the joy of crafting!

I borrowed a big shot, a big thank you to Bronwyn, and thanks for the cardstock she also donated. I took in lots of different stamp sets, inks, punches, Designer paper, rhinestones....and the kids had a fabulous time!

Seeing the look on their faces when and star was cut out from running a piece of paper and a die through the big shot was just magical and when they saw the butterflies they had cut out with the big shot, their faces were a picture!   Pure joy!

Lots of Thank You cards were made by the children so the school has a stock pile of them. The children made some beautiful cards and there were some learning curves happening in their crafting experience and they were able to learn from their first attempts and move on a make a better card the next time....stamping is harder than you think!

I had a truly wonderful time, and was delighted to be able to donate lots of retired products so that they can continue with their crafting even though I am over the other side of the world!

I am back now in the UK,  jetlag has hit us all bad so give a me a few days to find which way is up and then I will back again with some inspiring crafting.
