I know, I know it has been a while since I've posted. But for those you knew and those who possibly guessed I have not been around home for a while. In fact I have been over the other side of the world, visiting my home of New Zealand.
It was the best time to go as no kids had to be taken out of school and we could go for 4 weeks. The only down side was the my husband could not join us...this meant that I had two very long flights with a 2, 8 and 10 year old as well as having to look after them over there. I have to say however my family and friends were brilliant at helping out! Some days I didn't see them for hours, which gave me time to visit and catch up with family and friends which was very special.
Crafting wise......a bit of hit and miss. I did take a huge box of supplies to keep me busy, but with visiting and having great adventures, crafting seemed to be a bit non existent.
What I did do however was spend 1/2 a day in a school, the primary school that I actually went too many moons ago....and this is why being a demo is magical! Sharing the joy of crafting!
I borrowed a big shot, a big thank you to Bronwyn, and thanks for the cardstock she also donated. I took in lots of different stamp sets, inks, punches, Designer paper, rhinestones....and the kids had a fabulous time!
Seeing the look on their faces when and star was cut out from running a piece of paper and a die through the big shot was just magical and when they saw the butterflies they had cut out with the big shot, their faces were a picture! Pure joy!
Lots of Thank You cards were made by the children so the school has a stock pile of them. The children made some beautiful cards and there were some learning curves happening in their crafting experience and they were able to learn from their first attempts and move on a make a better card the next time....stamping is harder than you think!
I had a truly wonderful time, and was delighted to be able to donate lots of retired products so that they can continue with their crafting even though I am over the other side of the world!
I am back now in the UK, jetlag has hit us all bad so give a me a few days to find which way is up and then I will back again with some inspiring crafting.
Happy Crafting
Sarah
