Global Stamping Friends- Bloghop 4 " All Wrapped Up!"

Welcome to the 4th Bloghop of Global Stamping Friends.  For this hop we decided on the theme "All Wrapped Up" - something that a lot of us are thinking about at this time of year with Christmas around the corner! Or if you're in our house a few birthdays as well!

It would be great if you could hop along through all the blogs to see some amazing projects - and hopefully find some inspiration for your own wrapping needs.

I am a bit obsessed with the Cookie Cutter bundle at the moment so decided to use it to upcycle some brown paper.   Stampin' Up! UK used to deliver our packages full of brown paper, but unfortunately they have swapped to plastic pockets now so I had to find an alternative supplier - wasn't hard and a lot of you may know who I mean, yes Amazon still use brown paper!  Sometimes you need to iron it to make it smoother but it's also not bad with a bit of texture for the more rustic look.

As you'll see I stamped one with the Reindeer stamp and then just had to have one a different colour for a bit of contrast. The matching tag was also really simple to make with using Designer Series Paper from the annual catalogue with a bit of silver thread -always need some bling!

I have to say I was quite pleased when my boys came home and said "Wow, that's pretty neat" - a real complement from them!

The second wrapping paper I made used the same set; but the Teddy Bear stamp. I love the bright colours of the Teddy (the photo doesn't do it justice) and I can see this being used for all sorts of different occasions.

The tag just has a Teddy peeking out and the To and From stamps are from the same set!  See isn't it a great set!  The tag uses the Scalloped Tag Topper punch; an extremely useful punch.  It's finished off with a bit of the Pompom ribbon - what child wouldn't be delighted to see this under the tree on Christmas day or as part of their birthday presents?

I hope you've enjoyed my project.

Hop on over to Lisa to see her fantastic take on the theme by clicking the link below.

Global Stamping Friends - Festive Projects

It's hard to believe that it is the start of November. I do wonder where the year goes sometimes and goodness before you know it, Christmas will be here.

So welcome to the 3rd bloghop of Global Stamping Friends- this hop will focus on Festive Projects, it may be Christmas or it may be another Festive occasion.

I hope that you have time to hop through all the blogs, so grab a cup of coffee or wine, depending where you are, and enjoy all the wonderful projects that you will see.

My project uses the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and matching bundle- an absolutely amazingly festive set. I do apologise for the photo quality as our camera has gone on the blink and my phone doesn't like night time photos- but hope you get the gist!

When I first saw this set I thought it would make great cards, but then I saw a fellow demo had made a 3D project with it and I fell in love again. Thanks Tracy!

Imagine this at your Christmas day place settings, either filled with a few sweeties or even notes of thanks/kind wishes, wouldn't it look fantastic?  A note of warning however if you are using sweeties, they need to be not too heavy as the sleigh runners are delicate, or use a heavier card, such as Stampin'Up! kraft card to make sure it withholds the weight. I also thought it would make a great way to present a special piece of jewellery to someone - I'm sure few engagements happen over the festive season!

The set includes lots of decorative pieces and I love this little wreath and bow.

Adds a little bit extra to Santa's sleigh I think.

Hope you like this little 3D festive project and if you'd like to know how I made it just like my Facebook page and I'll post the directions soon!

Tin of Tags

I love having lovely tags on gifts and this tin is great not only great for Christmas but the stamp set is also great for other times.

The video below shows how easy the kit is to use and it makes 30 tags, more than enough for those gifts under the tree.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVRqDsJuAcY

Click on the picture to go to the video.

Look at all the amazing pieces it comes with.

You can either use stamp sets that you already have, but the matching stamp set has such great sentiments that I think it is a keeper!

If you like either the stamp set or Tin of Tags kit, then just hop over to my shop.

Global Stamping Friends Bloghop - Colour Challenge

Welcome to the second Global Stamping Friends bloghop. If you've joined me from Carole's blog welcome or if you've found me by some other route, also welcome. I hope that you enjoy the bloghop and don't worry if you get lost along the way as I've listed all the participants at the bottom.

This month's Global Stamping Friends is a colour challenge! I was quite excited when we decided what the topic would be but then came the dilemma of deciding what colours I was to use, you didn't need to use them all, and what project to complete.

The Colours

I had seen this project on a New Zealand Demonstrators page, Jacque Williams, and I thought it was not only super cute but also something that I would like to have a go at.

Well I have to say that I am delighted with my final result. It wasn't so hard to make, the hardest part was deciding on the embellishments. I chose to use the Botanical Builder set as I am so in love with it.  I also decided to use some stamp sets that I've not used very often to move me away from my favourites.  This time I used The Designer Tin of Cards Stamp Set, great for sentiments; Perpetual Birthday Calendar for the hearts and Timeless Textures for the frame.

The colours I chose were Cajun Craze, Delightful Djion and Early Espresso, I think that those colours work really well together. I also love the touch of vanilla from the flower centres as well as the gorgeous ribbon. Also, who can resist a bit of sparkle? Love, love, love the gold thread!

I stamped on the acetate in the window with Archival Black Ink, but suspect that a better choice would be Stazon; unfortunately I don't have that, oops, might need to go shopping!

And the best thing about the project is that it folds up for posting!

I hope that you like my little bit of  crafting today and please use the buttons to hop through all the blogs in the bloghop.

If you have time I would also love to hear your comments and if you'd like to know how I made it just let me know and I'll get some instructions done!

Birthday Card; Botanical Builder framelits

Well I am safe to share this now as the recipient has received it on time!  And for me, that was a great achievement as I had to send it to New Zealand and I am always forgetting how long cards take to get there.

I just love this card. I did CASE it from someone who created a wedding card using the same idea however I cannot recall who it was. If you know I'd love to give them credit!

Isn't it just beautiful? It is also very simple to make; Stampin' Up! have amazing products that let you create beautiful items.

I've used a couple of stamp sets; gorgeous grunge for the background (a must have set) and Butterfly Basics for the sentiment.  The flowers are made with the Botanical Builder Framelits - another must have set.

Hope you like it; I know that the recipient did and that's what is important.

If you'd like any of the products just head over the my online shop; open 24/7 and if you'd like to buy the card just get in touch as I can create in any colour combinations with different sentiments.

Colour Challenge

One of the great things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that you get to be part of a bigger family of demonstrators. I am so luckily to be part of a group called Stampin' Twinklets; a group of local demonstrators.

Recently a colour challenge was set for the Stampin' Twinklets by one of the members and the colours were these;

Not exactly colours I normally work with but I thought why not give it a go as I love any opportunity to craft.

So I came up with this;

I actually love it!  The flower and leaves are from the Botanical Builder Framelits set; an amazing set! and the dots are from the Polka Dot embossing folder.  I often forget about my embossing folders and was really pleased that I remembered that I had this one as I think it makes a lovely background.

A bit of gold thread to finish it off and there it is!

I purposefully left it without a sentiment as I decided that I liked it as it was.

Oh, in case you're wondering the colours I used were Early Espresso and Delightful Djion; glad I didn't have to use them all!  The background is Very Vanilla; one of my favourite colours at the moment and within the rules in case you were wondering.

Hope you like the simplicity of the card like I do and Happy Crafting!

                                                                        -------------------------

I fell in love with this set when I first saw the catalogue a few months ago; one of the many perks of being a demonstrator!  Aren't they adorable? Of course I've made lots of Christmas goodies with this set and I'll share those at a later date, but for this bloghop I thought I'm sure I can do something different with them and I did!

Look, they also make fantastic Birthday and Celebration cards, or in fact any other occasion that you'd like really.

The card below uses one of the mice from the set of three. I'm not going to go into detail here as to how I stamped her but I will post more indepth details later in the week for those interested.

I think any little girl would be delighted to receive this card, and in fact I know that I would too!

The next card uses the single image stamp and doesn't he look a happy chap holding the balloon?  I know my little boy would love this, especially because his favourite colour is red!

My final card also uses this little chap again, but this time he is fussy cut..it wasn't as hard as I thought.

I hope that you enjoyed my creations, I know that I enjoyed making them!  Oh, the other set I used is from the Annual Catalogue the amazingly versatile Balloon Celebration stamp set that also has a matching punch!

A little Birthday Present

Well I can finally share this as the present and card have finally been given to the Birthday Girl, albeit a bit belated!

This box and card were so simple to make but I think that they look so pretty.

The box is one I've made a few times and the idea came from Sam Hammond, but the measurements are different on the height. In fact I also made one for a end of year present for the teachers that was a lot taller.  The flowers are from the Wild About Flowers stamp set and the dots, as I call them, are from Gorgeous Grunge - a must have stamp set in my opinion.  The bow is made using the Bow Builder Punch and it makes lovely bows as you can see.

The card is using Very Vanilla for the cardbase, currently vanilla is my favourite crafting colour!  The first mat is using a retired cardstock of Lost Lagoon and the top one is very vanilla again.  The flowers are from the Wild about Flowers set, a great set as you stamp the flowers separately from the stems making it easy to have different colours.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, another great set.  It's all finished off with some sparkly ribbon in Pool party, sadly that is retired.....BUT there are two new colours in the Seasonal Catalogue....check back soon for a peek at them!

If you'd like to know how the box is made just comment below, or if I can get the new kittens to settle down I might in fact try a video.....but don't hold you breath on that one!

Butterfly Basics

I love the Butterfly Basics stampset and enjoy the simplicity of the set.

This is a card I made sometime ago and have keep looking add it to see if it needs something else, but then I decided that I liked it just as it is!

The main image is the flower from the Butterfly Basics set stamped and then coloured in using.  I then used scissors to gently ruffle the edges to give it a bit of grunge like look. I folded down one corner as well..not sure on that yet.

Finally the background mat is from the Brights Designer Series Paper stack - a paperstack that I think if often over looked but is a fantastic set to have.  You can buy it in each of the colour families, including the incolours, and you get 40 sheets in each stack, 2 of each double sided design in each of the colours in the family! or 4 sheets of each design in the incolours. A great pack to share with friends.

A little bow in the Organza Ribbon to finish it off - my favourite ribbon if I'm honest!

Designer Tin of Cards - Class

Had a great class last week!  It was so much fun as I met up with another demonstrator and we both had customers come; crafting with others is extra fun in my mind.

Charley, the other demo, has a fantastic crafting space and to say that I was a little bit envious would probably be an understatement!  A big shout out to her for letting us hold the class at her house and welcoming us into her home.  The link to her blog is here, so don't forget to check it out!

This is the Designer Tin of cards set, and it really is amazing. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the evening as my phone went flat, and luckily I was able to be directed home by a class member, as I suspect I would have been a little bit lost otherwise; big thanks to Caroline!

Everyone managed to get their tin started but with lots of chatting going on there was a bit left over to do, so I have lent the stamp set out to someone to finish it and will go a meet with the others at a later date to finish theirs and mine off - yeah more crafting!

I have to say it is a great set, and the tin is beautiful. The cards aren't our normal sized A6 cards but YES our cards do fit in the tin, so a great place to store all your carefully crafted cards.  I made sure that everyone attending received a handmade card by myself just to prove the fact.

If you are interested in having a group of friends over and completing this tin, just get in touch- you arrange the friends, I'll bring your tins and all the necessary supplies - Cost of £24.50; a bargain as that is the cost of the tin!  so you get the class for free!
